A Space Animation Loop

In my Stop-Motion Animation Class, the midterm assignment was to create a 15 second loop that would loop 3 continuous times. I was always interested in 2D paper animation and replacement animation so I decided to make a loop about the wonders and dangers of floating through space!

Through to Pre-Production process, I used Adobe Illustrator to storyboard my short loop and also used the software to create the planets, stars, astronaut figures, along with the spaceship. I wanted to focus on the design of creating the objects with one continuous line, but since the astronaut has the most mobility I used brads for the joints to give the arms and legs more motion.
I wanted to try my hand at keying a background into the animation, so I used a green piece of paper to act as my background during the Production process. I used the Stop Motion Studio Android application to make sure the registration remained accurate throughout the project.
In post production, I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the frames together along with keying the background image into each frame. The image used was found on Google Images. Audio was voiced by myself then edited. The royalty free sound effects and music were found online.
